AFRICA IS NOT A JUNGLE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SMIRNOFF ICE DELIVERS A SOLD-OUT CELEBRATION OF AFRICAN MUSIC, CREATIVITY, AND COMMUNITY IN DURBAN

Must read

This past Saturday, Africa Is Not A Jungle returned for an unforgettable, sold-out showcase at the Durban Botanic Gardens in Durban, bringing together some of South Africa’s most talented musicians, artists, and creatives for a powerful celebration of music, community, and African excellence.

The event – headlined by Black Coffee and supported by an all-star lineup including Dlala Thukzin, Major League DJz, Jordan Arts, 2wo Bunnies, Oscar Mbo, Ciza and De Rocka – marked another major milestone for the Africa Is Not A Jungle movement. The show once again highlighted the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and global influence that defines the African sound.

Beyond the music, the Durban edition carried a greater purpose – with R20 from every ticket sold going directly to the Black Coffee Foundation, supporting its ongoing initiatives to empower communities and create opportunities for creative youth across South Africa.

“The success of the Durban show was truly incredible,” says Lungie Mapumulo, CEO of the Black Coffee Foundation. “Seeing so many people come together in celebration of African creativity while also contributing to a meaningful cause was deeply inspiring. We’re grateful for the continued support and are now turning our focus to the upcoming Black Coffee Benefit Concert, where we will host a Africa Is Not A Jungle stage dedicated to purpose and performance.”

This year’s Africa Is Not A Jungle is amplified through a powerful partnership with Smirnoff ICE, which brought bold energy, flavour, and unforgettable experiences to the Durban edition of the festival. As sponsor, Smirnoff ICE created a vibrant activation zone where fans could chill, connect, and enjoy ice-cold refreshment while immersing themselves in interactive moments. From product tastings to experiential touchpoints, Smirnoff ICE once again proved that the vibe never stops in Durban this past weekend.

“Partnering with Africa Is Not A Jungle is a perfect fit for Smirnoff ICE,” said Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture: South West Africa. “It’s a platform that celebrates African creativity and excellence, the same energy our brand stands for. Together, we created an experience that connected people through music, culture, and great taste.”

The Africa Is Not A Jungle movement continues to position Africa not as a place to be discovered, but as a cultural force shaping the world – a bold statement of homegrown talent and global influence. The Durban showcase was not only a triumph for the artists and audience but also a testament to the power of collaboration between music, culture, and purpose.

Through the ongoing partnership between Africa Is Not A Jungle, the Black Coffee Foundation, and Smirnoff ICE, the movement continues to go beyond the stage – empowering communities, inspiring creativity, and celebrating the unstoppable spirit of Mzansi.
