Chiwetel Ejiofor wins best actor for 12 Years A Slave at the BAFTAs

Chiwetel Ejiofor has finally won Best Actor for his role in Steve McQueen’s slavery drama 12 Years a Slave, after several nominations. He won Best Actor at the 2014 BAFTAs which was held yesterday evening, beating Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Bruce Dern. Leonardo DiCaprio did not receive the honour as he attended the 2014 British Academy Film Awards at London’s Royal Opera House on Sunday.
Instead of his disappointment being caught on camera – which can often happen during awards season – the 39-year-old actor charmingly blew a kiss to the camera.
