(South Africa, July 2025) – Canadian neo-soul artist David Morin returns with his latest offering – a single titled, Dreaming – a groove-heavy, emotionally rich single that taps into the bittersweet confusion of post-breakup reflection. Out now via Bombay Records, the track marks the latest release from his highly anticipated sophomore album Light Waves, out 10 September.

Produced by Koyla and featuring Morin’s signature honey-smooth vocals and introspective lyricism, Dreaming invites listeners into that familiar space of asking “what if?” With its upbeat, funk-laced rhythm and sing-along chorus, the song captures the tension between longing and closure, wrapped in an irresistibly danceable package. “This one’s about that uncertain feeling after love ends,” says Morin. “It’s playful and reflective at the same time — the kind of track that lets you move your body while your mind wanders.”

Already tipped as a spring favourite and DJ go-to, Dreaming follows Morin’s well-received single Foolish, both part of the musical tapestry that makes up Light Waves – a modern funk/soul album exploring themes of love, vulnerability, and identity.

Known for his live-looped street performances and his ability to turn any sidewalk into a stage, Morin an artist whose music has resonated with fans from Vancouver to São Paulo, and now, South Africa. A former Urban Artist of the Year at the 2016 Western Canadian Music Awards, his sound blends R&B, jazz, funk, and soul, with praise from notable outlets such as VibeSoul Train, and Okayplayer. He’s shared the stage with the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Anderson .Paak.
