Lately men from Central Kenya have been in the news but for all the wrong reasons. Cases of men being beaten and mutilated by their wives in Nyeri are still fresh in our minds. Now a man from Limuru was caught having an unnatural act with a sheep.
Let’s be fair though, cases of bestiality are not exclusive to central Kenya. Just the other day, 17 men raped a cow and sheep to death in Trans-Nzoia.
Bestiality is criminal offence in Kenya as is any other unnatural acts.
The man arrested yesterday at Karanjee in Limuru is in police custody and will definitely have his day in court.
He however denies any wrongdoing.
Witnesses report that they heard the sheep bleating from inside a maize plantation on Monday.
On investigating the source of noise, they found 35-year-old Christopher Momanyi having sex with the animal.
“His efforts to run away were futile as young men helped to arrest him,” one of the witnesses said.
The man was beaten up before being frogmarched naked to an AP post in the area.
They were intercepted by area chief Francis Kimani and APs, who gave Momanyi clothes before continuing to the AP post.
“It was bad to see a grown up walking in the streets of our village without clothes,” Kimani said.
Momanyi said he was not having sex with the sheep, but that the sheep had run into the maize plantation and he was only trying to get it out of the farm.
He said that when he was in the plantation he felt the urge to relieve himself and that is when he was caught.
Witnesses however rubbished his explanation “Those are his allegations. We found him lying on the sheep. How can a man totally remove his trousers to urinate? It is illogical.”
The residents claim that this is not the first time that Momanyi has been found having sex with a neighbor’s sheep. He was caught in similar fashion last year and forced to buy the animal.
