(Johannesburg – Sept) Afrikaans pop meets Joburg’s inner-city energy on Sunday, 27 September 2026, when Joshua Na Die Reën takes the stage at Jozi Gold Brewing Company in Braamfontein. Gather your friends and settle in for a Sunday afternoon of live music from one of South Africa’s distinctive contemporary voices.
The show marks the first time Jozi Gold Brewing Company hosts an Afrikaans act, adding something new to the mix in the heart of Braam.
Jacques De Villiers, better known as Joshua Na Die Reën, brings more than a decade of music-making and four acclaimed albums to the stage. A jazz piano graduate from Tshwane University of Technology, he pairs rich musical arrangements with personal storytelling, moving between intimate moments and soaring melodies.
His 2013 debut earned two Ghoema Awards, a Tempo Award and a Woordfees Award. His second album, Die Wêreld binne my, followed with two Ghoemas and a SAMA. Later releases Someraarde (2019) and Die Vallei (2023) further developed his sound, with the latter earning an Aitsa Award and a SAMA nomination.
His appetite for exploring new sounds continued in 2024 with the launch of an alternative rock project, which released its first music in March 2025.
