Gabriela explains:

You Blink, I Break has been a song I have always wanted to write. I just didn’t have the words to describe my feelings for the longest time, so when the inspiration hit, I finally felt I could trust myself enough to pour my heart into this song. So much went into the making of You Blink, I Break and to see it take its first steps into the world makes me feel really proud.”

About Gabriella

17-year-old South African singer-songwriter Gabriela Diamond’s voice oozes with raw emotion and intensity. Her tone encompasses a feeling of brittle fragility and yearning coupled with delectably sweet whispered tones that leaves the listener wanting more. Her music infuses R&B/Soul with a mix of bedroom pop that includes percussion beats, piano, harmonies with many-layered elements, and surprises as well as heartfelt yet powerful lyrics filled with honesty, insecurity, and love. Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa Gabriela finds her inspiration for her lyrics through personal experiences written in bold and relatable metaphors.

In 2020 Gabriela had the amazing opportunity on Nelson Mandela’s birthday on the 18 of July to come together with South Africa’s most prominent recording artists that include Zolani Mahola, Arno Carstens, Francois Van Coke, Jack Parow, Jimmy Nevis, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Jeremy Loops, Karen Zoid and many more to honor Nelson Mandela and bring our nation together during times of uncertainty through the campaign and song released called ‘Because Of You’ by Mzansi All-Stars.
