Durban – Three people have been killed and three others injured on Monday morning in a shooting incident at a block of flats in KwaZulu-Natal, ER24 paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the incident occurred on Beach Road in Doonside.
“Paramedics were called to the scene by SAPS members, who were the first on scene.”
Meiring said five people were found to be involved in the shooting when paramedics arrived on the scene.
“On assessment, paramedics discovered that a man and woman had sustained fatal injuries in the shooting.”
Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene, while three others were found on the scene, with two having sustained critical injuries, he said.
“Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions.”
The patients were treated by paramedics then transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The cause of the shooting was not yet known, but local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
