Steenberg’s signature Garden Party returns with a bold new setting, fresh vintages, and a flourish of spring energy, celebrating 25 years of Cap Classique, local terroir and timeless style
Cape Town, 12 August 2025 – Spring in Johannesburg will find an elegant expression on 20 September, as Steenberg Wine brings its much-anticipated annual Garden Party to Glenshiel Estate in Westcliff; an iconic property known for its stately charm, sweeping lawns, and panoramic views.
This year’s event marks a new chapter for the Constantia-based winery, blending Cape heritage with Joburg sophistication in an afternoon that promises wine discovery, quality food, and vibrant sensory experiences.
“We’re incredibly excited to host our Garden Party at Glenshiel for the first time,” says Carryn Wiltshire, Marketing Manager at Steenberg Wine. “It’s the perfect backdrop to celebrate everything we love about spring from bold flavours to beautiful settings, and joyful connections.”
In honour of Cap Classique Month, the event will also toast 25 years of Steenberg Cap Classique, alongside the estate’s acclaimed Sauvignon Blancs and signature reds. Carefully curated tasting stations and generous harvest-style food pairings will showcase the depth and character of the range.
Adding an extra layer of discovery, an optional Masterclass with Cellar Master Elunda Basson will be held from 13h00–14h00, offering guests an intimate tasting experience of older vintages and insights into the unique Steenberg terroir. Tickets for the Masterclass are available separately via Quicket.
From live music by Mo-T (Mi Casa) to the promise of unexpected entertainment woven throughout the gardens, the event invites guests to dance, taste, and wander. This year’s surprise element remains under wraps, but following last year’s standout fashion showcase, expectations are high.
“We always aim to create a moment that goes beyond the glass,” adds Wiltshire. “Whether it’s through our surprise performances, floral artistry, or the gift our guests receive, it’s about crafting a memory and something that truly celebrates the lifestyle behind the wines.”
