Pastor Penuel Mnguni, 24, the controversial pastor who fed his congregation live snakes was arrested at the weekend.
The arrest followed after pictures of pastor Penuel went viral on social media, feeding his church members live snakes, telling them they would turn into Chomp chocolates.. A case of animal cruelty has been opened against Mnguni at Tshwane SPCA.
In the pictures uploaded on social media, the pastor can be seen holding a snake while preaching. He further helps some of the congregants, a man and a woman, to open their mouths in anticipation of the snake.
He has now been charged with animal cruelty and will appear in court today.
