2025, Johannesburg – The second edition of the Betway Premiership Soweto Derby delivered high drama on and off the pitch, as Betway brought back the exciting ‘Betway Kick For A Million’ to a sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday, 03 May.
In an unforgettable moment of fan engagement, five lucky winners – Sibongile Magasela, Sithembele Ndlela, Thabo Makoka, Siphokazi Batyashe and Obakeng Moroke emerged as the grand winners of the ‘Kick For A Million’ challenge. They walked away with a combined R750,000.00 after successfully landing the ball on their respective winnings in front of more than 90,000 fans.
Fans with a valid and active Betway account were short-listed through an exciting fan activation outside the stadium, which saw them qualify for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of kicking for a million at a sold-out FNB Stadium during half-time.
The activity saw the selected participants step onto the pitch and showcase their football skills, adding to the excitement of South Africa’s most anticipated football fixture, through Betway’s continued commitment to elevating the fan experience.
Saturday’s winners are in addition to the five that walked away with a combined R700,000.00 in prize money at the last edition of the Betway Kick for a Million initiative held at the same venue in February.
Sibongile Magasela, one of the winners, said, “No words can describe how I’m feeling right now. It’s my first time winning anything, and I still can’t believe it. This is a life-changing win.
