So far, it has been labelled among the fastest inkjet printheads ever produced in the history of printing technology. What makes it unique is its ability to emit 84 picolitres (pl) of ink per droplet. Currently, a model that emits 160 pl droplets of ink is also obtainable.

The printhead, which was successfully presented to the printing industry in October last year, will be formally made public at the InPrint industrial printing technology sector trade fair on the 15th to 17th of November in Milan, Italy.

Below are some of the benefits users will enjoy in this new printing innovation:

Variety of applications

The cutting-edge printing technology is oil-based. The water-based ink version will soon be available in the market. The current KYOCERA printhead can astoundingly print on ceramic tiles in any colour, design or pattern of your choice. Its adaptability, compatibility and durability have all combined to make it possible to extend its uses to textile printing, carpet printing, fabric printing and medical printing, including tablets. Most of all, its fast-drying capability, with large pigment particles, has won the admiration of users because it is easy to apply under any condition.

Outstandingly reliable performance

KYOCERA Corporation, which is known globally for manufacturing ceramic components in the technology industry, is extending its footprint by introducing this printhead using its exclusive piezoelectric technology. Specifically, KYOCERA’s high-class expertise has led to the discovery of this printhead that circulates efficiently to prevent ink from collecting or drying up in the printhead. The prevention of the ink from accumulating saves the nozzle from blocking, thereby prolonging its lifespan. The efficient circulation system maintains a stable temperature in the ink while in operation. This guarantees accurate printing because it prevents the development of air bubbles thereby eliminating errors.

Unique features of the printhead

The information below presents the main features of the printhead that sets it apart from its counterparts in the industry.

  • It is the world’s fastest printing technology, delivering fastest printing at 50m/min. using 84pl droplets;
