Matte-Look-Weekend

Must read

Let’s talk about the new matte look lipstick that has hit the market, making waves and has us looking OH-SO-FAB. These lipsticks glide on smoothly and imparts a velvety, high-fashion matte finish as it envelops lips in rich colour, it sticks on to your lips like you were born with it and most importantly will not leave smudge marks on your loved one’s crisp white shirt or remain on their lips after that loving smooooch… We just love that!!!

A lot of us however have been a bit hesitant after rushing to the stores to get our IN-FASHION matte lipstick, only to be left with a bitter feeling after experiencing parched lips and instead of High End Fashion look we are spotting the cracked-look instead.

No need to fret though ladies there is a technique to wearing this matte look – Who would’ve thought!! In as much as we prep our faces before applying any Make up on our skin and taking care of it, we need to do the same with our lips.

Below is a step by step guide on how to rock your favourite Matte look effortlessly.

1. Exfoliate your lips. Dry, dead skin is often what makes your lipstick look rough and uneven, so slough it off before you apply any colour.
2. Add moisture.
3. Use lip liner to get the perfect shape.
4. Apply your matte lipstick.
5. Blot lips on a piece of toilet paper.

As mentioned before this kiss-proof pouts sticks on you because of it drying formulation, so you need to learn how to remove it when that date night is over without damaging or drying out your lips.

Easy peasy guide to removing Matte lipstick.

One way it’s by using the old school Vaseline: smear Vaseline on top of your lips, leave it on for about five minutes, and wipe off with a wet wipe.

Another easy way to remove matte lipstick it’s by using matte lipstick remover such as NYX lip color remover, Sephora lipstick remover ( you can easily by online on Sephora website).

Lastly again at no cost, use Olive Oil or Coconut Oil to make it slide off. If you’re in a pinch and find yourself without any makeup remover, go through your kitchen and improvise with olive oil. Drizzle some olive oil (or baby oil, either one works just fine) over a cotton round and dab it over your lips. Prepare to see some magic right before your eyes.

And remember to exfoliate with your brown sugar and honey to keep your lips game on!

Now – with that being said and out of the way happy Matte-look-weekend to you Adorner’s!!
