Iconic new stores open in Sandton

New retailers, restaurants and experiences offer shoppers more variety

Johannesburg, 18 October 2022: True to the city’s promise to house the world’s top brands and stay at the forefront of retail innovation, Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square have welcomed a host of new retailers over the last few months, many of whom are making their debut in South Africa. Just in time for Summer, shoppers now have access to even more variety, luxury and convenience.

Firstly, purveyors of luxury style can up their fashion game as designers Alexander McQueen and Karl Lagerfeld have opened boutiques in Sandton City’s Diamond Walk, both opening their doors in the country for the first time.

The Style Loft, featuring a curated selection of artisanal beauty, fashion and lifestyle showcase under one roof, just opened in Nelson Mandela Square, alongside Shazmin’s Petite Patisserie that will sweeten any day of the week. Calistos now offers an exquisite Portuguese dining experience while Nobelesse and GERI men’s formal wear boutiques too recently opened their doors in this popular lifestyle space.

Fans of the American motorcycle brand will be pleased to know that a new Harley Davidson outlet is now open in Sandton City, offering everything from the motorcycles themselves to the accessories and apparel that accompany the biker lifestyle. Additionally, the NBA (National Basketball Association) just opened its first store in Africa, in the centre, and based on the successful American store model, stocks fan merchandise, catering to the avid basketball fan base in the country.

Following soon in their wake are H & M Home and the Xiaomi MI mobile store, both of which will mark their South African debut. As the first standalone store in the country, the inviting and contemporary H & M Home store will present the latest trends and the newest products to create an inspiring interior and lifestyle destination with a truly vibrant shopping experience.

Sandton City will shortly be welcoming Baby City, Bathu Shoes, Drip, Freedom of Movement, Mio Mondo baby boutique, Moa Café and Asantii, while Nelson Mandela Square will soon house Just Teddy Fine Boulangerie and Patisserie which offers luxury café style dining and delectable confectionary creations. Also on the Square, designer label Chilli Girl will be opening its doors imminently, offering a new collection of ladies apparel, perfectly suited for the season ahead. Hobby enthusiasts can look forward to Planes, Trains and Automobiles that will soon be catering to their every whim.

Additionally, over the past few months, several retailers have completed renovations, including Crocs, Foschini, @Home, Queenspark and Scotch and Soda to ensure the biggest, brightest offerings are available to Sandton shoppers.
