Celebrities are reaching out in every way they can to keep Nelson Mandela’s day and memory alive. Somizi recently revealed his plan to support matric boys in providing matric dance suit to mark Mandela Day while Rapper Emtee is doing his bit by releasing a tribute song.
The award winning rapper Emtee teamed up with Nigerian reggae-blues singer Harrysong to record a Nelson Mandela tribute song, ahead of Mandela Day next week, paying tribute to the global icon, in song, entitled Mandela (We Wish Not to Let You Go)
In the track, he compares certain aspects of his life with Mandela’s, before expressing his gratitude for Mandela’s example and for “giving us this rainbow nation.”
“I would do anything to see you again… I am what I am today because of you,” the Roll Up rapper later sings.
People from across the country are encouraged to give 67 minutes of service in celebration of Mandela day, which marks the former statesman’s birthday.
