In a short message posted to the Duke Soul Productions Facebook page on Monday‚ the label’s Major P announced the news.
“I’m sorry to announce that Duke Soul passed away this morning. He always loved the Duke Soul Music family very much. Let’s stay strong‚” the statement read.
The family of popular house DJ Duke Soul have also confirmed to TMG Entertainment that he passed away in his hometown of Kimberley late last night.
The house DJ‚ who was born and raised in Kimberley‚ was admitted to hospital on 1 April. His cousin told TMG Entertainment that he had earlier collapsed at O.R Tambo International Airport and had been in and out of hospital for a few weeks now.
At the time Major P took to Facebook to ask people to pray for the him. “I would like to ask you guys to pray and wish Duke Soul a speedy recovery as he’s in hospital. We love you Duke Soul Music family have a safe and awesome weekend.”
No funeral arrangements have made been yet.
