The most recent example of this is Jose Mourinho’s special “Pack the Bus” tactic. The negative effect of these tactics was showcased in the London derby over the weekend: Diego Costa single handedly organized the demise of hot-headed defender Gabriel Paulista.Chelsea took advantage of their numerical superiority to win at Stamford Bridge.

This morning, I woke up to the news that striker Diego Costa will miss Chelsea’s next three domestic matches after a Football Association charge of violent conduct was upheld.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans were further compensated for their North London derby loss by the good news that the appeal against defender Gabriel’s red card has been successful. The successful appeal means he will now not serve a three-match suspension.

Justice at last!
