At just 15 years old, Bella’s cinematic work is already gaining notice. She starred in Paramount’s The Infernal Machine alongside Guy Pearce and Alice Eve. Her upcoming lead role in I Hate Pirates for Amazon Prime Video, slated for release later this year, is also highly anticipated. “I’m so excited for people to see this film,” Bella shares. “The team was incredible, and working directly with Manny Mijares and watching his creative vision come to life is something I’ll always treasure. It has a lot of heart and a lot of surprises.”

Beyond her acting roles, Bella is a familiar face in high fashion. She has led campaigns for DKNY, Karl Lagerfeld, and Sonia Rykiel Paris, and has walked the runways of Paris and London Fashion Weeks. Her influence extends to social circles, where she regularly appears on red carpets with figures like JoJo Siwa, Jelly Roll, and Jared Leto. Bella’s experience at the festival provides a unique glimpse into her journey as a young artist on the global stage.

Bella on Monte-Carlo: Insights from the Festival

We asked Bella about her time at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival:

Q: What were your first impressions upon arriving at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and how did this years’ experience compare to any previous festival attendances?

Bella Alexandras: “My very first thought was: ‘OMG this doesn’t feel real.’ Everything looked like a movie. The views, the sea, sharing rooms with the real-life characters from stories I want to be in. But what surprised me the most was how calm I felt. Cannes was huge, a rush of cameras and flashing lights, but this felt quieter, like I could just be me. I walked into Monte Carlo feeling small in the best way: wide-eyed, curious, ready to listen. I think that’s how I’ll always want to walk into rooms.”

Q: Beyond the red carpet, what were some of the most impactful moments or key takeaways from your time at the festival?

Bella Alexandras: “Honestly, it was the quiet in-between moments that stuck with me the most. Like seeing so many cultures, languages and creators in one space just vibing and connecting over storytelling. It reminded me how universal this path is. I also had a moment standing on the carpet where it hit me: I’m actually here, not watching it on TV or scrolling the event recap on TikTok and YouTube. That feeling of stepping into a dream while staying true to where I come from is something I’ll always carry with me. I was so proud to also witness our very own Anant Singh, Sibonelo Leleti Khanyile and Sumeet Maharaj bag a Golden Nymph Award for their movie ‘Don’t Give Up’. South Africans are winning and the world is taking notice.”

Q: The Monte-Carlo Television Festival is a hub for content and industry connections. Did you have any notable interactions with creators, producers, or executives that particularly resonated or opened new avenues?

Bella Alexandras: “Yes and I am still processing a lot of it. I got to speak with a few producers of shows I’ve grown up watching and they were so kind and real. And it wasn’t just polite small talk, I left those chats feeling so excited and more focused – like maybe the doors I’ve been dreaming about are actually starting to open. It made me even more hungry to keep learning, keep growing and step into those bigger roles that I know I am ready for.”

Q: How did it feel to represent South Africa at an event so focused on the global television and content creation landscape?

Bella Alexandras: “It felt like such an honour. I don’t take it lightly. I’m just one girl, but I carry a whole world inside me: my family, my country, my roots. Every time someone asked where I am from, I said ‘South Africa’ with so much pride. I hope I made home proud. There is so much untapped talent and creativity back home. I was standing there not just for myself, but for every young South African girl who’s ever wondered if she belongs in those rooms. She does.”

Q: Following both your Cannes and Monte-Carlo experiences, how are these international events shaping your creative vision for future projects, especially within the television space?

Bella Alexandras: “I always knew I wanted to act but now I’m starting to see the bigger picture, like producing & directing my films one day. Especially stories that matter to my generation. These experiences have really opened my eyes to just how powerful storytelling can be, not just for entertainment – but for connection, even change. I’m still young and learning but I feel this calling to be part of projects that matter.”

South African Roots

Bella’s journey shows her dedication and talent, especially at her young age. Her South African background continues to inspire her work, giving it a unique energy. “No matter where I am in the world, South Africa will always be my home. Growing up in SA gave me this special energy. It’s in everything I do. Whether I’m on a red carpet like Monte Carlo or deep in character on set in Los Angeles, I’m proud to carry it with me and represent something bigger than myself.”

With upcoming projects including a lead role in the Amazon Prime Video feature, I Hate Pirates and an American production set for later this year, along with her debut EP. Bella continues to build a significant career as a global artist. Her clear vision and authentic voice promise a career that will have a lasting impact.
