Tanzanian Multimillionaire Businessman Launches $120 Million Juice Processing Factory

Said Bakhresa, one of Tanzania’s wealthiest man, on Thursday launched a $120 million fruit processing factory in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.

According to Tanzania’s Daily News, the country’s president John Magufuli personally launched the new plant, which has the capacity to process 350 tonnes of fruits and vegetables daily.

At the inauguration ceremony, President Magufuli was full of praise for Bakhresa’s new investment and applauded the businessman’s commitment to creating new jobs in the country. The new juice factory is expected to create 600 new jobs.

Bakhresa’s new plant is the first indigenous aseptic packing facility for fruit juices in Tanzania and has the capacity to pack up to 41 million liters per annum.

Said Salim Bakhresa, who is the founder of Bakhresa Group, is one of the wealthiest men in Tanzania with a fortune that FORBES has estimated at $600 million. His Bakhresa Group is involved in agribusiness, beverages, logistics, media, oil trading, recycling and packaging. The group has an annual turnover of more than $800 million and employs more than 8,000 people in East and Southern Africa.
