Malema due in court for speeding

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is due to appear in court on Friday on charges of reckless or negligent driving.
Malema was arrested in December last year for driving at 215km/h in a 120km/h zone.
When he appeared in January, his lawyers asked for time to study the case docket and advise their client on a possible plea.
In a separate matter, charges of assault against Malema have been withdrawn by the complainant.
Bernard Redelinghuys on Wednesday opened the case against Malema and another man after claiming he was confronted and slapped during a road rage incident in Polokwane earlier this week.

Police confirmed that Redelinghuys has since withdrawn the charges.
