British actor Idris Elba, the new face of Oude Meester

British actor Idris Elba was last night named the new face of South African fine brandy Oude Meester.

[full]Elba, 41, who portrays the late former president Nelson Mandela in the film Long Walk to Freedom, replaces Jamie Foxx. Like Foxx, Elba shot the TV ad, which features local soapie Generations’ Siyabonga Radebe, in Cape Town.

The announcement was made in Bryanston. The ad, shown publicly for the first time last night, is expected to premiere next month.[/full]
