Telkom Empowers Proteas Ahead of the 2023 Netball World Cup by ensuring the squad stays connected

In a strategic partnership, Telkom and Samsung has equipped the final SPAR Proteas squad with a smartphone, smartwatch and an unlimited monthly cell phone contract that will keep them connected, both on and off the field, as they prepare for Africa’s first Netball World Cup in Cape Town.

Johannesburg, 20 May 2023 –  Telkom, one of South Africa’s leading telecommunication companies, and device partner came together to show their commitment to the development and empowerment of netball in South Africa. The event aimed at cementing the stance on sponsoring netball and its continuous efforts to support and uplift the SPAR Proteas squad, as they gear up for the highly anticipated 2023 Netball World Cup.

In a handover ceremony held in Rosebank, Telkom proudly presented the final squad and management team with cutting-edge Samsung smartphones and smartwatches, keeping them connected both on and off the court. This initiative highlights Telkom’s dedication to “…connecting people to a better life”

Gugu Mthembu, Telkom’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed her excitement about the event stating, “We would like to firstly congratulate all the players who have been selected for the final Proteas squad.
