CORONA SUNSETS FESTIVAL SETS OFF THE SA SUMMER SEASON
Corona Sunsets Festival shows why it is the essential SA summer lifestyle experience

Johannesburg – November 1st, 2022 – The South African summer festival season opened in superb fashion on the weekend as the Corona Sunsets Festival returned to Johannesburg on Saturday, with a sold-out crowd and top artists including stand out performances from Major League DJz and Dutch superstar Sam Feldt.

Making its return after a three-year hiatus, the Sunsets Festival, again showed why it has become a highlight of the South African festival calendar. Set in Huddle Park, the festival’s magnificent outdoor stages came with a world-class line-up and spectacular views of the golden highveld sunset.

Some of SA’s most iconic DJs were on the bill, many of whom are now international stars, including Major League DJz, Zakes Bantwini, Sun-El Musician, Msaki and Desiree, while the celebrated Ndlovu Youth Choir brought their own vocal magic to capture the iconic African sunset.

As for the international line-up, closing out the main stage was Dutch star DJ Sam Feldt while other international artists include French-born DJ and Producer, Nico De Andrea, as well as; UK-based house artist, Kitty Amor.

The Corona Sunsets Festival also left as little behind as possible, setting the standard for festival sustainability in SA. Barring plastic used in some of the setup logistics, paper & biodegradable packaging replaced all single use plastics.

“As the first global beverage brand to attain a net zero plastic footprint, festival sustainability ties in with Corona’s deep connection to nature and a broader responsibility to do all it can to protect our environment and our oceans,” said Marsha Kumire, Corona Marketing Director. “The festival showed just how much we find our best selves in the outdoors, relaxing to great music with friends, and of course incredible sunsets.”

For the first time at the Corona Sunsets Festival, this year’s edition featured three dancefloors while the festival also included organic craft food and art vendors as well as a variety of interactive lifestyle experiences, including an underwater & outdoor VR Experience, and a Drum Circle.
